Hot Stuff!

In the last week or so Lauren has really started cruising around. She loves her little push toy, until she hits something and then she panics until someone turns her around. With a little help, she'll go back and forth across the floor forever. She walks with her legs super far apart but it doesn't seem to matter to her, she still thinks she is pretty hot stuff.

We'll miss you!

Today was a sad day for us. Our good friends Aaron and Marilyn moved. They have been here in Torrance the entire time we've been here and we've had such a great time with them. It's especially hard since our kids are so close. Mason and Emily have been best buds for so long and Taylor and Lauren were just joining in the little crew. We are happy for them but we will miss them so much. The girls and I saw Marilyn and the kids almost everyday for one reason or another. It's going to tough to explain to Emily why Mason and Taylor aren't every we go. We always cherish good friends and we will always remember all the fun times we've had. And we know we will always find time to get our little families together. We love you guys!

Happy Valentine's Day!

We had a fun little Valentine's Day. It started with flowers for the girls (Jason always gets me flowers and now Emily gets her own bunch too, it's super cute.) Jason always picks out the most beautiful flowers, perks of being married to a horticulture guy. The night before Valentine's, my young women made little cards for some elderly people at a nursing home by the church, so on Thursday I took Emily to deliver the cards. I wasn't too sure how well she would handle the nursing home but I wanted her to have a chance to serve someone else. She was so cute. We went into the room where they were having a little party and she passed our all of her cards and said "Happy Valentine's" to each one. The people loved it and Emily had a blast. I was so proud of her. It was one of the those times when you feel like you are really teaching your kids something about life. My mom used to take me to a nursing home to pass out juice when I was little and it's something I have always remembered, so it was nice to pass that on. And for her efforts, she walked away with a heart balloon and a ton of candy. We then celebrated Valentine's night with a good dinner at home and German chocolate pie (Marie Calendar's of course.) We actually went out to dinner on Friday night, we always avoid the crowds Valentine's night. All and all it was a great day and a great reminder of how special my family is.
Our two Favorite Valentine's!

Tag, Tag, Tag!!

So I got tagged twice this week but since I have sick kids I haven't had a chance to do them. So today I am getting caught up. This first tag is a Valentine Hubby Tag (I know it's a little late, but better late than never.)

What is his name? Jason Kent Polson

How long have you been marriend? 5 1/2 years

How long did you date? 1 year (but we had known each other for about 7 years)

How old is he? 27

Who eats more sweets? Easily me

Who said 'I love you first'? He did, but I wasn't too far behind

Who is taller? He is by a couple inches, let's face it, we didn't exactly give our kids the best height genes. But as Jason likes to tell us, "It's the size of the dog in the fight, it's the size of the fight in the dog." (Cheezy, I know)

Who can sing better? Maybe about the same, he might be better

Who is smarter? I would like to think I am except for I am regularly getting beaten at Big Brain Academy, so you be the judge.

Who does the laundry? I do, only because I am a freak about stains and what gets dried or not. But I will say that he is an excellent folder, which is the part I hate the most. Great combination.

Who pays the bills? I do, but he makes the money of course

Who sleeps on the right side on the bed? Jason

Who mows the lawn? Unfortunately no one right now. But I am pretty sure that's one thing I will never get to do. I don't think he'll give that one up. Fine by me.

Who cooks dinner? I do, but he always helps especially if there's potatos to be peeled or cheese to be grated, these are his specialities.

Who drives? He does

Who kissed who first? He kissed me first :)

Who is more stubborn? Probably me

Who asked out who first? He asked me out, after 7 years of knowing each other.

Who proposed? He did and he did a wonderful job I might add.

Who has more siblings? I win 8 to 5.

Who wears the pants? Weird question. I think we do a pretty good job of sharing.

Ok that was a long one. I not sure if I pass on the Valentines Tag but I'll tag Amberli and Amy D. and let them decide.

He loves me, he loves me not....

This is Lauren's new favorite game. She stands below Jason's favorite plant and picks off the leaves. She's so funny because after she picks them off, she looks them over and drops them on the ground. When I tell her to stop, she turns around and gives me a big grin and keeps going. It's so funny it makes it hard to stop her. Pretty soon there won't be leaves low enough for her so until then we'll let her entertain herself and us. By the end, when daddy's plant is almost bare, I'm sure her answer will be "he loves me not!" (referring to daddy).
P.S. I know I have been extrememly deliquent in my blogging but we've just had a really low key month and it's been good time to just play with the girls and enjoy the family.

What, are you talking to me?
