Girls Day at the Aquarium..

So Thursday I thought I would be adventurous and head down to the Long Beach Aquarium with the girls. We are members and go a lot with Jason on weekends but we've never gone during the day. What an adventure! First of all, I didn't realize that this weekend was the Long Beach Grand Prix and they were setting up the track all around the aquarium which tripled the amount of time it took just to get into the aquarium. But we made it in. When we got in, I was shocked by the amount of kids running around. I was talking to a lady working there and she told me they were expecting 1600 school kids on field trips that day alone. Yikes. Needless to say it was crowded, but we still had a great time. This is the first time I've gone somewhere like this since Lauren started walking and let me tell you, that added a new twist. She was anywhere and everywhere as fast as her chubby, little legs would carry her. She was so fascinated by being able to be up close to the fish, it was so fun to watch. Emily, as always, loves the touch tank and the Lorikeets (birds). This time she even held her own bird. Brave girl. All and all we had a super fun time but were exhausted by the time we got home.
Emily and her bird.
This is how Lauren spent the day-face plastered to the glass (very sanitary, I'm sure)
Emily with the stingrays-she gets so excited when she touches one!
Sea turtle-one of our very favorites.
"Hey, you looking at me?"

Look at those cute girls! It is so good to see that your family is doing well. It definitely makes life more exciting when your kids are walking on their own. Our youngest Tracen started walking at 9 1/2 months and is just crazily active. It can get ridiculous when we leave the house. I'm glad to see that you all survived the outing!

I hate when things take forever with kids. But I'm glad you still had fun, your girls are precious!
