Back to Life!

After all of travels and being out of town, it is so nice to be home and settled for a while. Things have been so crazy, we are so anxious to get back to real life. Yesterday I took the girls to the park for the first time in a while and it was so nice to just enjoy the park and the girls without worrying about what else needs to be done. Home Sweet Home!!!

Food, Fun and Lots of girls!

This last week I had the chance to go to girls camp with my ward. After being in Young Women's for 3 years this is actually the first time I've been able to go. This year was also the first time in about 8 years that our stake has done the tent camping thing. It took alot of preparation with food and equipment, but overall it went really smoothly. Camp was on Catalina Island which is just off the coast of Long Beach/Orange County. Besides a lot of bees and one rattlesnack, we avoided the wild life and got to participate in some really fun stuff. We hiked, swam, snorkeled, jump off rocks and sea kayaked. We also went to a marine research facility which was really fascinating. Our girls were real troopers and I think came away with a great camping experience.

Wicked!

For our anniversary, Jason and I got tickets to see Wicked at the Pantages Theater. I've heard so much about it and it will be leaving Los Angeles in October so we finally went and saw it. It was AMAZING! The music was so good and it was really funny. I had already taken the girls to Deborah's to stay while I was at girls camp, so we actually got to go to dinner and then see the show. It was such a wonderful night. If any of you haven't seen and get the chance, don't miss it, it is definately on the top of my list of musicals seen.

Summer Vacation!

So I know we've been missing for a while but we have been on a wonderful family vacation. We were so lucky, the way scheduling worked out we were able to maximize our vacation time and see tons of family along the way. Although we're glad to be home, we had a great time and thank all of those who let us stay with them, visit them and take time to see us.

Cousin Fun!

So probably the best thing about our trip was the fact that our girls got to spend time with so many cousins. They were fortunate enough to see almost all of their cousins plus some of Jason's cousin's kids. Family is so special to us and we cherish any chances we get to expose our kids to as much family as possible. We love you all!

His dad should be so proud!

She worked really hard for this picture!

Last Stop....Sacramento!

So as for this part of the trip, it was originally unscheduled. My sister called when we were in Las Vegas and asked if I would come stay with her while her husband was out of town. So instead of driving from Boise to Salt Lake and then to L.A. we went from Boise to Sacramento. Jason flew home to work for the week while the girls and I stayed to play. We had the best week. It was such a nice time to unwind and relax from the rest of the trip. The kids had a great time and we mostly just played at home and in the backyard. The kids spent tons of time on the slip and slide and in the little pool. My sister and I watched chick flicks everynight and made cards. It was a perfect girl week. Jason then flew up the next weekend, spent Saturday with us and then we drove home. And as a special treat, on the was home we drove through Atascadero and visited our good friends the Keeps.

What a great look :)

A little further north... Boise!

Continuing on with our western states tour, we hit Boise to see my brothers and parents. Sad to say, I was not great with my camera in Boise so we're lacking in pictures but we had a great time none the less. We especially loved having the girls spend time with their cousins. We went to a fun water park, played in Allan's huge backyard, had fun get togethers at night, spent an evening at the lake waterskiing and tubing and who can forget the cow roping adventure (one for the ages). My one brother has recently ventured into the cow business and has 6 cows on his property along with a dog and cat. My girls were in heaven! Their poor cat was probably so glad when we left, Emily would not let the poor thing walk, she carried it everywhere. It was so fun to get caught up with everybody, especially since we missed them at the 4th of July. We had a great visit and can't wait to get back to visit again (or live, as Allan would try to convince us.)

City kids feeding the cows

I'm pretty sure this is not really how you should hold a cat but fortunatly for Emily it was very patient cat.

The girls were in LOVE with the John Deer!

Fun in Park City!

One of the days of the reunion we spent in Park City Resort. It's been years since Jason and I have done the alpine slides but it was just as fun as we remembered. Emily loved the slides, if fact I think she went the most times of all of us. She wanted to go as fast as possible, no fear. The highlight for her, though, was definately her horseback ride. She has been asking to ride a "big" horse for the longest time so it was fun to be able to have her do that. She was in heaven. Lauren was not so excited and never made it on the horse. I don't blame her, they make me nervous too. It was a beautiful day in Park City and we had a wonderful time with the family.

Just a note, Emily & I would have beat Jason but the lady in front of us was sooooo slow!
Our little cowgirl!
The whole Polson clan (we missed Kim & Jared, & Brandon, of course)

Deer Valley...What a Place!

Thanks to Jason's aunt and uncle, we had a wonderful Davis Family Reunion in beautiful Deer Valley, UT. They we able to rent gorgeous homes up in Deer Valley resort. They were amazing, with even more amazing views. We were able to stay there for 4 days and it was so fun. There were so many fun activities, golfing, hiking, biking, family talent show and of course, just hanging out with family. So many people put in so much work and it was so great to get caught up with family we haven't seen in a while. Thanks Davis family for a very memorable reunion!!!!!

Next Stop.....Provo!!

Unfortunately, we didn't get to spend too much time in Provo, but it is always so fun to go back. It always seems like we show up with a list of things-to-do & eat. First, things first, we met up with the family and the girls we able to get caught up with Clark and Logan (their cousins). We spent all day Saturday running around, trying to see and do as much as we could. Although we didn't get to everything, we of course, couldn't pass up the opportunity to visity BYU campus. It's so fun to go back and see the changes that have been made but also see the things we love so much. We have such wonderful memories there and it's so special to share those with our girls.

Las Vegas....The beginning!

Our vacation extravaganza started with a 1 night stay in Las Vegas. Jason had never really been, except to drive through so we thought we would stop and have a night of fun. So it would have been more fun had it not taken us 3 hours to get out of LA, but what's new? We still had time to play some games, watch some acrabats and walk around a little. Besides being unbearably hot it was fun. We had a great little room at the Circus, Circus Hotel and the girls loved have a fun sleepover.
